INTERNATIONAL UNDERWATER TARGET SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The International Underwater Target Shooting Championships is an underwater sports tournament that tests a competitors ability to accurately use a speargun in a swimming pool while freediving on a breathold.
The format of the International Underwater Target Shooting Championships requires a competitor to commence a dive at a starting line, swim underwater for 10 meters in order to reach a shooting line where he will obtain support from a weighted object at the pool bottom, remain underwater at the shooting line for 1 minute, fire at the target, swim to retrieve the spear, surface and swim back to the starting line whilst reloading the speargun.
This cycle is repeated within a time frame of 10 minutes until 3 shots are fired. Competitors will have to keep their nerve to be in with a chance to be crowned the underwater target-shooting king.
